Dancing Arms
This project aimed to create a set of robotic arms capable of performing a synchronized dance routine
Overview:
This project aimed to create a set of robotic arms capable of performing a synchronized dance routine, powered by two servo motors and controlled via an Arduino Nano RP2040 connect board. The integration of a motor controller board facilitated precise movement.
Problem :The challenge was to engineer a system that could not only accurately replicate dance movements but also do so in a visually appealing and synchronized manner, which involves:
Achieving smooth and coordinated movements that mimic a "cool dance" using mechanical components.
Ensuring precise control and timing of the servo motors to synchronize with the desired dance sequence.
Solution:
Utilizing the Arduino Nano RP2040 and compatibility with complex control schemes necessary for precise movements
Employing a motor controller board to manage the servo motors' operations, enabling precise adjustments to speed and position.
Challenges and Takeaways:
Designing a system that could translate digital commands into fluid, dance-like movements presented significant technical hurdles. Key achievements included: Fine-tuning the motor control to achieve the desired fluidity and synchronization of movements.
It also demonstrated the importance of integrating mechanical and software engineering to bring dynamic and complex robotic systems to life. Through this endeavor, we gained insights into the challenges of robotic motion control and the potential for technology to simulate human-like expressions and activities.
